About the Chair
The group of Professor Balzani is active in research in particular in the field of continuum-mechanical modeling and simulation of complex materials, where both static and dynamic effects are subjects for research. In teaching, a wide range of courses on mechanics, continuum mechanics, material modeling, as well as on shell structures and numerical methods are offered.
Structure of the Chair
The Chair of Mechanics - Continuum Mechanics belongs to the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. It is headed by Professor Daniel Balzani, who succeeded Prof. Holger Steeb in October 2017.
